Discover Why Mindy Kaling & Bill Hader Skipped 'Inside Out 2' - Meet Their Surprising Replacements!

Inside Out

In the upcoming release of Inside Out 2, viewers will immediately notice a change in the voices of Disgust and Fear. This shift comes as Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader, who originally voiced these characters, were not able to return for the sequel.

Amy Poehler, however, returns to voice Joy and reportedly received a substantial $5 million for her role in the movie. Alongside Poehler, other familiar voices will be reprising their roles in the anticipated sequel.

Despite efforts, negotiations fell through to bring back Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader, leaving fans to anticipate their replacements in the highly awaited film.

Back in September 2022, Puck reported that Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader decided not to join the film due to a disagreement over pay.

According to one source, while Amy Poehler secured a multi-million-dollar deal, other cast members were offered significantly less, around $100,000 for their contributions.

“I had a great time working on Inside Out and am sure Inside Out 2 will be great. But I’m not working on it,” Mindy Kaling informed TheWrap.

Now, the question remains: who will be stepping in to replace them?
